Since relocating to New York City from Boulder, Colorado in 2008, Jefferson has become a respected singer and instrumentalist in several musical circles: singing traditional ballads and playing mandolin, guitar, and banjo at traditional Irish sessions, playing acoustic guitar and singing tenor with Old-Time fiddlers and bluegrass ensembles, bending tele-strings with electric country and rock bands, and playing solo as a singer-songwriter. Some of his New York projects include: folk-pop trio The Dolly Sods (Stephanie Coleman, Cassandra Jenkins), bluegrass-trio The Casual Fridays (Thomas Bryan Eaton, Jared Engel), electric rock band featuring Erik Deutsch on keys, and Irish and Old-Time song-based traditional music project The Murphy Beds (Eamon O’ Leary and Ryan McGiver). Some of his Colorado projects include: electric Americana jam act Great American Taxi (Vince Herman, Chad Staehly, Jake Coffin, Edwin Hurwitz), big-singing honky-tonk and country act the Dangerfields (KC Groves, Sharon Gilchrist, Oliver Craven, Eben Grace), theatrical acoustic trio Single Malt Band (Jordan Moretti, William Downes), trad-Irish quartet the Wayfarers (Jessie Burns, Christel Rice, Sean Sutherland), and original Electric ensemble from the “Left Wing Sweetheart” album Cosmic American Ensemble (Ben Kaufmann, Erik Deutsch, Marc Dalio).
